Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2, 2026
Pindom is an independent, fan-made platform for cataloguing and valuing collectible pins, operated by a private individual in the United States. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
What we collect
- Waitlist email. If you enter your email on our pre-launch page, we store that address and which page it came from, solely to email you when access opens.
- Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address and, if you provide them, your display name and general location. We sign you in with a one-time link sent to your email — we never ask for or store a password.
- Collection data. The pins you add, their condition and quantity, wishlist entries, and any purchase or sighting details you choose to record (such as the shop you found a pin in and the price you paid).
- Photos you upload. Images you submit for a pin, which are watermarked and reviewed by a curator before appearing publicly.
- Messages. If you use the contact form, we store your name, email, and message so we can reply.
- Essential cookies. A session cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies are set.
Why we collect it
To operate the service: to sign you in, to show you your own collection, to maintain a shared catalogue of pins, to estimate market values, and to respond when you contact us. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the site, each acting on our behalf: our hosting provider (Vercel), our database and file storage providers, and our email provider (Resend) for sign-in links and notifications. We query public marketplace listings to estimate pin values; those requests contain no personal information about you. We disclose data otherwise only if legally required.
What other people can see
Your display name may appear alongside contributions you choose to make public, such as a sighting you report, a photo a curator approves, or a marketplace listing you create. Your email address is never shown publicly.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. Waitlist addresses are kept until launch or until you ask us to remove them. Contact messages are kept while we need them to handle your enquiry.
Your choices
Email cory@thepindom.com at any time to access, correct, export, or delete your data, or to be removed from the waitlist. We will action deletion requests within 30 days. Every email we send includes a way to opt out.
Children
Pindom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders. Questions: cory@thepindom.com.
